Political Instability and the Coming Defeat of ObamaCare

The media is now pulling out all the stops to help Obama win the House vote. They know he is in deep trouble and they need to help. And they will keep helping, reporting as if the vote is in the bag.

But do not fear. Jay Cost has the real house vote count. (Rep. Massa’s claims that he is the swing vote, notwithstanding.)

If you want to help, call the Members of Congress on Jay’s list, and follow it daily. Organize demonstrations in front of their offices. Put them on YouTube. Call them. Email them. Contribute money to their opponents. Seek out these Members of Congress in their districts. Button-hole them. Do not let up until the House votes. (Sorry Jay, your list is better than Minority Whip Cantor’s memo.)

There is more good news. Even former Majority Leader Senator Daschle, who has been the unseen hand pushing Obama on health care, says on video this is the end of the ObamaCare effort. After this, it is over.

By the way, ObamaCare did not die and rise back to life. It has been dead for a long time. The President, the Speaker, Axelrod and Plume keep insisting that it is alive because they live in a fantasyland bubble. (Don’t start living the dream too.) There is a view other than ObamaCare is dead or is alive. You could be like Hennessey: ObamaCare is both dead and alive. His piece is titled Health Care CPR, but in reality, Hennessey’s view is it is mostly dead.

The Speaker and the White House can not allow themselves to believe anything other than they will win, because they have developed the intellectual behavior of the politically irrational.

Look at this quote from fantasy-land-spinner-in-chief-David-Axelrod — the man the New York Times says is the last person the trillion dollar President talks to before making a decision:

Killing ObamaCare is a Rational Act

One hour and forty minutes after the White House issued their Easter deadline for ObamaCare to pass Congress, Democratic House Leaders conceded “they may not meet President Barack Obama’s challenge for swift action.”

Whenever the House Leadership moves a vote, it means they don’t have the votes. In Spanish, that’s mañana.

With the White House issuing a deadline and the Dem House leaders immediately and publicly saying, not so much, the White House looks silly and limp and powerless. They look even more out of touch and desperate than they did when President Obama announced that he will not quit with his self-appointed Captain Ahab role of hunting the great-health-care-white-whale.

But the best news (finally) is that a group of Democrats are willing to have News at 11 film them shooting ObamaCare in the head.

Obama Pushes Health Care Nuclear Option

President Obama is advocating the use of the budget reconciliation process to pass ObamaCare through the House and Senate.  This procedure also referred to as the ObamaCare Nuclear Option and the Health Care Nuclear Option because the liberals are using this procedure as a means to get around the filibuster in the Senate.  This same President Obama who opposed the Nuclear Option in 2005 as a back bench Senator.

Quotes from Democrats on Senator-elect Brown and the Future of ObamaCare

There is no plan B,” Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) said. “There are so many problems with the Senate bill from the House view that they wouldn’t get a 100 votes.”

“After being filled in on the House negotiations with the Senate, Stupak said, “we’re looking at each other like, yeah, well that’s that’s good, but … even if you reach agreement, can you have it done by tomorrow? Because you’re not going to have 60 votes come tomorrow. They filled us in and it was almost like there wasn’t an election in Massachusetts.”

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY): “On a substantive level, I think this health care package might be doomed and it might not be the worst thing in the world to step back and say we are going to return with jobs first or we are going to do something that more people have a basic handle on, and then maybe we will return and take a deep breath. We need to get our balance back.”

Stephanopoulos Agrees with Barney Frank: If Scott Brown Wins, Health Care Dies

Via Newsbusters, this is what the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Dem-only, cram-down health care strategy has wrought:

STEPHANOPOULOS: You know, there’s only one realistic option, and it’s a longshot. The idea that Democrats in the White House and Capitol Hill are working on right now is to convince enough House Democrats to simply pass the bill that passed the Senate, which is not exactly like the House bill — there are differences in abortion, there are differences in the way that taxation happens — but the argument to those Democrats will be, to the progressives: “It’s never going to get any better than this;” and to the conservatives and moderates who’ve already taken the tough vote, that they’re going to have the worst of both worlds if they get nothing for it.

But, Diane, that is a very long shot. I think most Democrats right now would agree with Congressman Barney Frank, a loyal supporter of the President, who said that health reform in this form is likely dead if Coakley loses.

Stephanopoulos is way outside the Dem perimeter on this one: “a long shot…a very long shot.”

And both George Stephanopoulos and Rep. Barney Frank are exactly correct — the Senate bill will not pass the House, even if it means nothing will pass — at least in this Congress. The Dems need to get to work on something other than health care — really, really need to — they are getting shredded by health care.

But Speaker Pelosi is still in cram-down, Dem-only mode.

And she is looking very un-Pelosi-like in this video where she orders the Light Brigade to keep charging — or is it the Jonestown Kool-Aid Brigade to keep drinking? (h/t sharonmcp).

Minus 85,000 Jobs – This Is An Improvement?!

So we get the info babe on ABC (radio) NEWS broadcasting that ONLY EIGHTY FIVE THOUSAND jobs were lost last month. “The good news is that the recession has turned the corner”.
WHAT?? WHAT!! Geez, give me some of what she’s smoking! How convoluted does your thinking and your grasp of reality have to be to spin that figure into something positive?

The Labor Department today revealed the really sad and frightening truth without intending to. Since His Emptiness Barack the First’s February stimulus, in the amount of THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY BILLION DOLLARS of your money, THREE POINT TWO MILLION PEOPLE are no longer in the workforce. That’s the bottom line figure. Three point two million jobs, in the face of billions and billions of precious national wealth taken and misapplied in a thousand different ways, sending the money into the hands of all the WRONG people for all the wrong reasons.

In the meantime, the BARACK HUSSEIN regime’s assault on the American people and the economic engine that actually drives job growth in this country, SMALL BUSINESS goes on unabated.
It’s SO bad out there that 661,000 people stopped looking for employment in December, even as Obama was trumpeting that his administration had “created 4000 jobs”. Umm, let me guess Obama… GOVERNMENT jobs, right?

I’ve heard Rush Limbaugh postulate that Obama’s real agenda is to utterly destroy this country’s economy in order to better facilitate the imposition of an extreme leftist socialist agenda as visualized by him. I’ve heard several GOP leaders state their fears in the same vein. Then Newt Gingrich just recently said much the same thing in a different way. This has been something I had under my hat but was unwilling to unload on Obama, even given my undisguised dislike for him. Accusing him of out-and-out counter revolution, against the revolution that formed this greatest of all experiments into the freedom of man, property, thought and religion, would be tantamount to accusing him of blatant treason against the people and the Constitution of the United States of America.
Frankly, in view of the cumulative evidence I’m less certain than ever that this man has the interests of the people and this country at heart.

Once again we have the issue: We are a people of laws and we seek redress through legal ballot – yet even now as I write, the ultra-sleazy Barney Frank is trying to put forth an automatic voter registration act that would guarantee the registration of potentially millions of illegal and illegitimate voters. Stealing the votes of honest taxpaying citizens.
WHEN IN THE COURSE OF HUMAN EVENTS…….

The Trillion Dollar President’s War on the Word Terror

Does anyone believe that The Trillion Dollar Health Care President — as in, all he can do is spend and print a trillion dollars — cares one wit about the war on terror?

This is the same Trillion-Dollar-all-I-care-about-is-health-care-President who strains mightily to ever use the word terror, or the phrase war on terror.

His Homeland Secretary went a whole hearing with out using the word terror, but prefers the term a “man-caused disaster.”

This is the same President and White House who refused to term the Fort Hood attacks by a deranged Muslim terror — and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to any where near that point only because of an email trail by the shooter to radical clerics and websites.

I’ll bet the only reason that President Obama waited three days to make his statement about the system’s failure is that the White House took a poll which showed the Trillion Dollar Health Care President being pummeled.

So, let’s get straight what happened. (Our own little review.) First, the woman who refuses to acknowledge or use the word terror is in charge of, well, protecting us from terror. Great start. This is logical if you want to cram down (a la health care) people’s throats the message that we are not at war — even if we are.

Did you know the I’m-in-charge-of-security-but-can’t-use-the-word-terror-Secretary said there is “no indication of a larger plot?.”

Obviously, she lied. She knew better.

The Trillion Dollar President’s Latest Gaffe

From ABC NEWS:

“President Obama told ABC News’ Charles Gibson in an interview that if Congress does not pass health care legislation that will bring down costs, the federal government “will go bankrupt.”

I see, we need to spend $2.5 trillion on a government take-over of health care — or the U.S. will go bankrupt?

Uh, huh. It is like the skit from Saturday Night Live — the trillion dollar man says he is worried about debt, but all he does is spend money.

The $2.5 trillion price tag on ObamaCare may be why an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released today found:

“Democrats’ problems seem in part linked to their ambitious health-care plan, billed as the signature achievement of Mr. Obama’s first year. Now, for the first time, more people said they would prefer Congress did nothing on health care than who wanted to see the overhaul enacted.”

The NBC/Wall Street Journal poll results may also explain this instant classic from Michael Barone:

“it’s interesting that when Massachusetts Democrat Michael Capuano, fresh from a second-place finish in the primary for Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat, was asked to tell the Democratic caucus what he had learned on the campaign trail, he replied in two words: “You’re screwed.”
